Why use a registered and qualified electrician?
Well, the main reason is safety!
All electrical work in a home, however small or large, should be carried out by qualified, competent electricians who will carry out work to the requirements of Part P of the Building Regulations and BS7671 (“the wiring regulations”).
These important and in some case, legal requirements, are designed to ensure the health & safety of building users.
We often get asked ‘can I do my own DIY electrical work?’. If you are willing to deal direct with the Local Authority Building control, pay their relevant fees, and are competent to install, test and certify your work to BS7671, then maybe you can. But in practice, it’s easier and cheaper to use a registered electrician who can self-certify all Part P notifiable work themselves and ensure you receive the required building control and electrical installation certificates for safekeeping.
We are registered with ELECSA and can self-certify all our own work – see the ‘About Us’ page for more details.
